Rodney
A. Moye
Pastor
Moye was raised in a Christian home and was saved
September 1975 during a revival at Bible Baptist
Church in Lashmeet, West Virginia.
Following salvation, he was Scripturally
baptized by immersion on September 14, 1975.
In
May 1990, Pastor Moye graduated from Concord
College in Athens, West Virginia, with a Bachelor
of Science in Business Administration.
Following
graduation, he moved to Washington, DC, where he
pursued a career as a Contract Specialist with the
Department of Defense (DOD).
After working for DOD for more than six
years in both Washington, DC, and Mechanicsburg,
Pennsylvania, Pastor Moye surrendered to God’s
call to enter full-time Christian service.
Upon
leaving his secular career in August 1998, Pastor
Moye began attending Pensacola Theological
Seminary (PTS), a ministry of Pensacola Christian
College (PCC), in Pensacola, Florida.
While
attending PTS, Pastor Moye worked in PCC’s
Advertising Department, and he served as a
ministerial intern at two churches in Pensacola,
Florida. In
May 2002, Pastor Moye graduated from PTS with a
Master of Divinity.
In
August 2002, Pastor Moye accepted a position on
the staff of Independent Baptist Church (IBC) in
Clinton, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, DC.
After
working at IBC for one year, IBC voted to
establish a new church in Northwest Washington,
DC. In
September 2003, Independent Baptist Church of
Georgetown held its first meeting with Pastor Moye
serving as pastor.
Pastor Moye is married to Diana
Halleck Moye, and he is the father of two sons,
Ethan and Zachary.
