      Hope for Troubled Times

Although we live in troubled times, there is hope.  Psalm 31:24 says, “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD,” and Psalm 33:18 says, “Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in His mercy.”  Thus, the hope for troubled times, as well as all times, is in the LORD himself.  To have hope in the LORD, you must do the following:

First, admit you are a sinner.

The Bible tells us, “There is none that doeth good, no, not one” (Romans 3:12).  It also tells us, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

Second, realize the penalty of sin is death in hell.

The Bible says, “The wages [or payment] of sin is death” (Romans 6:23).  Our sin separates us from God who cannot look upon sin (Isaiah 59:2).

Third, recognize that Christ died for you.

According to the Bible, God loved us enough to send His Son to die for our sins (John 3:16).  “But God commendeth His love His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).  It is only through Christ that we can have forgiveness of our sins (I John 1:9; 2:2).

Fourth, receive Christ as your personal Saviour and your only Hope.

Once you have accepted the previous three truths, you must pray and receive Christ as your Saviour by asking Him to forgive you of your sins and to save you from the penalty of your sins (Romans 10:9, 10).  The Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Roman 10:13).  It is Jesus Christ alone who can save us from death in hell and give us an eternal home in heaven (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).

Dear friend,
If you have received Jesus Christ as your Savior after reading this, we would like to know about it so that we can pray for you and send you some more information.
